Grand Soir

A warm, resinous amber built on labdanum. Orange and labdanum open it rich and slightly jammy, then lavender and benzoin smooth it into something softer and sweeter. The base is amber, vanilla, tonka bean, musk and cedar: honeyed, creamy and warm, with just enough wood to keep it from turning into dessert. Grand Soir means "big evening," and it's built for one. It's polished and glowing rather than dark or smoky, the classic amber done cleanly and very well. It starts bold, then settles into a smooth vanilla-amber haze that stays on skin and clothes well into the next day. It works equally well on anyone. Wear it: evenings, dinners, occasions. Best in autumn and winter. Go light, because one or two sprays fills a room. Expect: strong projection, very long wear. It lingers on scarves and jackets for days.
